SOS Youth Camp 2011 (Part 3)

Hello! Hello!
How's everybody doing? Now, it's been a while since the 2nd part of our Youth camp. This is the 3rd Review. Hope you remember it =)

What Happens When You Touch God.

Luke 8:40-48

The NLT version of this passage has it subtitled: "Jesus Heals in Response to Faith". It talks about a woman's faith which led her to healing from suffering a sickness called hemorrhage for 12 long years. Well, you must wonder what hemorrhage is. Hemorrhage is a sickness whereby woman will experience menstruation (a.k.a period) every single day; Non-Stop!!! Girls, this is the worst nightmare that can ever come true for you. *shudders.

Plus, in those days, when women are experiencing menstruation, they are considered unholy and unclean. Therefore, they are forbidden to worship God in the temple. Imagine, this woman was forbidden to worship in the house of God for 12 years! *Sniff… sniff…

Now back to the passage, here is what it says. Jesus was just passing through a huge crowd, heading towards Jairus' house, a ruler of the synagogue, to heal his dying daughter. However, this woman crept behind Jesus and by Faith, she touched just a little corner of Jesus' robe and the Bible says "IMMEDIATELY the bleeding stopped.”
To put it simply: she was healed.

At the point of time, Jesus turned and asked the crowd, "Who touched me?" Everyone denied and Peter even explained that the whole crowd was pressing against him. But Jesus insisted that someone "deliberately" touched him. He felt healing power going out of him.

The woman finally fell in tremble to her knees and told everyone the truth and why she had touched Jesus and that she had been immediately healed. THEN, Jesus said, "DAUGHTER, your FAITH has made you well. Go in Peace."

You see people, this woman is no different from us today.
There are 4 thing that she did we can relate to.
1. Act of Desperation.
2. Expression of Genuine Desire.
3. Bold, Courageous Declaration.
4. Action of Demonstrative Faith.

And it all comes down the word "FAITH".
Hebrew 11:6 “But without faith no one can please God. We must believe that God is real and that he rewards everyone who searches for him.” This woman in this passage demonstrates it all. She received from God what no one else can give; healing. You can also receive from God what no one else can give you and experience God's Power in your personal life; like the healing power that went out from Jesus to the woman. For Acts 1:8 says, "But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will receive power."

This woman received peace, blessings and healing because she had the faith; she believed. The Bible says that she spent EVERYTHING she had on doctors who couldn’t cure her. In the end, she found it from Jesus alone. You too, can begin a new journey of peace and blessing by just believing and having faith in God.

Isn't it wonderful? That all we have to do is, HAVE FAITH, to receive the best reward of life. So people, What are ya waiting for??
Matthew 21:22 says, "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Matthew 17:26 also says, "...Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible."

We had a blast on our first night. We played something spooky that night planned by our Game master's younger brother, Khai Meng (it must in the genes!) All of us were so into it that no one got a shot of the entire game. However, right after the game the bonfire was on and thank God that it didn't rain.

"This is the best youth camp ever since I joined Youth," said Joanna our president.

"I had so much fun!" said Josephine and Jamie Gan who attended it.

(They are not sisters by the way, they so happened to have the same surname)

"We truly learned a lot from the camp."

SOS Youth Camp 2011 (Part 2)

Hello again!
As promised the journey of our SOS Youth Camp 2011 will continue. If we're not mistaken, the first morning's plenary session by Ps Chris was about a stomach virus called "Obed-edom". Haha! Just kidding. But that was what he told us! "Obed-edom" sounds like a stomach virus. Check out this 2nd review:

Zer0 to HERO!

1 Chronicles 13:5-14

The passage above tells the story of the process where King David was bringing the Ark or Covenant from Judah into Jerusalem. You see, the Ark was placed on the cart and the men from the family Abinadab were the ones that drove the cart. Along the way, the cart was moving through rocky grounds in a place called Chidon and the Ark was about to fall. So a man named Uzzah wanted to save it from falling to the ground. As soon as his hands touched the Ark, God’s anger was kindled and He struck Uzzah DEAD!

Now, if you were the other men there, how would you feel? Beyond terrified if you ask me. Well, you are not alone. Even King David was terrified. And he in the end decided to discontinue the journey. Instead, he asked Obed-edom to keep it. And that brave man kept the Ark for 3 months. The LORD blessed the whole family of Obed-edom and everything the man owned.

How does this story apply to our daily lives? Pastor Chris intro-ed with a joke of Obed-edom’s name. What kind of person who has that weird name which sounds like a stomach virus or something. This guy was a nobody, bravely volunteered to keep the Ark of Covenant safe for God despite witnessing God striking someone dead just because that man touched it to save it.

When Obed-edom decided to serve God, he became a Hero. He became a somebody. Vs 14 tells us that Obed-edom kept the Ark for 3 motnhs and that he was richly blessed by God.

Like us, are we brave enough to serve God despite the circumstances surrounding us? Even it means taking a high risk like how Obed-edom did? Pastor Chris also pointed out to us to compare the life of King David and Obed-edom. You see, because Obed-edom took the risk and serve God to keep the Ark, his family was richly blessed. But if you look at the family background of David, he had many rebellious sons. A son who raped his half sister, a son who wants to take over his throne while he was still alive and a son that had 700 wives and 300 concubines. Isn’t that just sad?

So do not lose out the opportunity when it comes to you, to serve God to your max because if you miss it, the blessings that come with it will never return to you in another way.

God can and will use you even though you are like an “Obed-edom” and you will be blessed to be a Hero and not a zer0.

I know, I know. You guys must be thinking this:

Why now only post?
That was like ages ago, man!
There was a camp?

Well I hope the last question won't pop up in any of your mind because there WAS a camp! First of all, we wanna apologize for the 1 month + delay of this post. We youths are quite busy people too. But on the brighter side, this post is a reminder of what we have learned in the camp, that we should be CHAMPS, it's OK to be an "Obed-Edom", our faith should be like the lady who bled for 12 years. Here's the 1st review.

The Making of A Champion!

As shared by Pastor Christopher Long, Esau despised this firstborn inheritance by exchanging it for a bowl of food. Jacob was a real trickster (deceiver). The scriptures showed us how Jacob deceived Esau twice to take his birthright from him. Because of this, Esau purposed to kill his younger brother, Jacob. Thus Jacob escaped Esau and flew to stay with his uncle, Laban for twenty years.

20 years later, Jacob returned to the land of his grandfather, as told by God. And as Jacob & his family were on their way back to Canaan, God appeared to Jacob in a very special away and changed Jacob's name.
In Genesis 32: It states that Jacob wrestled with a man till daybreak. And when the man saw that he could not overpower Jacob, he touched the socket of Jacob's hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. The man said: Let me go, for it is daybreak. But Jacob replied, "I will not let you go until you bless me". The man asked him,
“What is your name?"
"Jacob," he answered.
Then the man said, "Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome."

This story left a deep impression to me. Why did God wrestled with Jacob? Because God wanted Jacob to recognize his weakness before Him.God wanted Jacob to know that all his strength & wisdom comes from God alone! God had wonderful plans for Jacob, but God's best blessings can only come to those who knows that they cannot please God is their own strength.

WHY DID GOD CHOSE A DECEIVER LIKE JACOB AND MAKE HIM THE FATHER OF THE NATION WHICH WOULD BRING THE REDEEMER INTO THE WORLD?

1 Corinthians 1: 27-29 God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things, and the things that are not, to nullify (invalidate) the things that are, so that no one may boast before Him.

HOW ABOUT US?

Have we recognized our inability to please God?

1 Peter 5: 5-6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that He may life you in due time.

WHAT are they doing? WHY are they doing this in the church?

Yay, just like what you see in the pictures, they are washing cars. Not for fun, but to raise funds for their yearly youth camp: God’s Love, which will be held on 13-15 March.

Well, yes, the youths definitely enjoy washing cars together with brothers and sisters in Christ at church! They played, splashed & take tonnes of photos. But most importantly, they learnt to raise funds by doing something and serving the community. Its really a blessing that many gave generously. The youths too, are really blessed to have loving aunties and uncles who trusted them to wash their cars.

Aside raising funds, car wash is seen as a healthy activity for young-energetic youths. They learnt to humble themselves and serve others. Generally, many of us don’t like serving people. Yet Jesus served, and called on His followers (WE) to serve whole-heartedly. Mart 10:45, For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.

sweet smell of repentance

Come, let us return to the Lord (v.1).

READ: Hosea 6

As I opened a container that had been neglected at the back of the fridge, a foul odor filled the air and nearly made me gag. Over way too many weeks, some leftovers had turned into a repulsive, moldy mass.

In Hosea, we find God holding His nose—being repulsed—as He viewed His people. In a well-known account, He compared unfaithful Israel to Hosea’s wayward wife Gomer (1:2-3:5). Something was stinking in the northern kingdom, and a loving God was about to clean house.

As you turn the pages of Hosea, however, you can’t miss the relentless love God had for His people (1:7; 2:14). He had made a covenant with His rebellious nation and He compassionately chose not to destroy them completely (11:8-11; 14:4-7). But He did allow them to experience the destruction of their kingdom by Assyria in 722 BC (Hosea 5:13-14). Why? So they would “admit their guilt and turn to [Him]” (v.15)

With those thoughts in mind, the prophet penned, “Come, let us return to the Lord” and “let us press on to know Him” (6:1,3). Hosea cried out to His people to repent and return to God—the One who said, “I want you to show love . . . . I want you to know Me” (v.6). God implored them to turn from sin and embrace Him.

When we choose to turn from the Lord and pursue sin, we fall headlong into a state of spiritual death. We take another “lover” into our arms, as Gomer did, and our hearts grow cold. To bring us back, God must lovingly discipline us.

But if we repent, He will replace the stench of our sin with the sweet smell of restored relationship. God’s “love will know no bounds” as it fills the air with fresh fragrances like “the cedars of Lebanon” (14:4,6). —Tom Felten

Hey youths!

Here's what happened today during Youth Service.

We had Weldon sharing about his life in college/uni. He was suppose to update us about his life there but he reminded us of his fall into the drain instead. Oh yea, like we'll ever forget that part. He had us all worried about him because of the previous accident, he had his arm broken. Accident prone person. Tsk tsk.

Anyhow, he did share about his life eventually.

Aunty Jane

Hey guys..

Please pray for Aunty Jane. As most of you know that she wasn't around last Sunday because of her asthma and terrible cough. However, she is now admitted in Arunamari Hospital for observation as the doctors there discovered that her lungs are cleared! (Praise God) But, she has a sinus problem and dripping mucus which is the cause of her terrible cough.

Just got an update from Pst. Ashok: She went for CT scan. If her sinuses are clear she will go home if not, she will be referred to an ENT (Eyes/Ears, Nose, Throat) doctor. She is cheerful and no bad coughing like yesterday. Continue to pray for her.

Uncle Segar

Hey guys...

We need to seriously pray for our beloved uncle Segar. His dear, closest uncle just went home to be with the Lord a few days back. It is really terrible to lose someone we love so much. But that was not the only thing, just yesterday, Uncle Moses, (uncle Segar's dad) got a stroke. His left arm and leg are affected but his speech is still well. He is currently in SJMC Subang. So youths, please pray for uncle Segar and his family. Especially his grandmother. She just lost one son and the other one is admitted in the hospital. We need to lift uncle Segar up and keep on praying for him and his family. Thanks.

Our president Weldon has fallen into a 1.5m pit and may have fractured one of his left ribs. It was pitch dark at night and so he didn't see the hole and fell into it. Hey Youths,
Just a small update on what happened last week for those who didn't make it.

We played a game that requires teamwork and stick togetherness. Each team was given an egg, pieces of newspaper and a black plastic bag.

The game is to drop the egg from the 3rd floor to the G floor and it MUST NOT BREAK. So to prevent the egg to break once it touches the ground, each team is to use the pieces of newspaper and the black plastic bag. Everyone put their heads together and came up with unique ways of wrapping the egg.

Then, players need to climb up to the 3rd floor using the stairs with their legs TIED UP together with another member.
Yes. Us Youths got our legs tied up with our small group members.

What happened last week... was our dear UNCLE SEGAR gave us a talk, concerning 'something to leave you all with'. The following below would be my attempt to summarize and convey all that he has said to us.

Posing us with one big, all-important question: "Who are you?", the scripture verses he chose for that day was from Leviticus 18:1-5, which reads:

"1The LORD said to Moses, 2"Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'I am the LORD your God. 3You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices. 4You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the LORD your God. 5Keep my decrees and laws, for the man who obeys them will live by them. I am the LORD.' " "

Notice from the verses that the sentence "I am the LORD your God" has been repeated so many times. Was it that the Israelites had bad memory, or were they deaf? Neither. The repitition was done deliberately, and possessed much more profound significance. God doesn't change throughout eternity, right? So coming back to the 21st century, He is actually telling us too, "I am the LORD your God". YOUR God. He is 100% percent personal with you, and He takes you seriously. Because He loves you so much, He is a jealous God; not the type of jealousy we have when we suspect our boyfriend is out with another girl, but an affection and 'love that a father has for his children'.

Going back to the very first question we were asked, "Who are you?". Do you say, "I'm a district basketball player." or "I'm a world-class pianist."? Now, considering these 2 situations, what happens when you stop playing basketball because you are too old? Or if you had a neural disorder and you can't control your fingers anymore? What would you be then?? Segar used himself as an example of failing a test. Just because he failed a test, does that mean he is a failure? No. It just means he has failed a test, full-stop. This only proves one thing, that what you DO isn't YOU. Your achievements and failures in your entire lifetime, doesn't, I repeat, DOESN'T define you. This brings Segar to his point. Verse 3 says "You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live,". Don't be controlled or shackled by your past, because they simply don't make you who you really are.

The same principle applies for your future. What you are going to be, also is not YOU. Verse 3 continues, "...and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you." One day you will be a renowned manager or actor, but remember, that doesn't represent you.

In that case, who are you, really?? You are God's child. And like I've mentioned, God is personal. You belong only to Him. Whether you have great achievements as a scientist or a humanitarian, you are still God's child. Notice that no matter what happens, it doesn't change the fact that you are God's child.

Ending here, I would leave you all with what Segar said, "If there was one thing I could leave you all with, it would be this question:"Who are you?". Your heart belongs to God."

We started off with one sermon session with Pastor Gonzalez and then during the afternoon, we had a game.

After the water gun game, we went for another game that requires courage because we need to climb up high High HIGH up.

Yup. The game isn't on the ground. It was way up high.

That's Ryan up there. It's a tough game. Even the boys' legs were shaking while they were up there. One of a kind experience!

And at night we had another session with Pastor Gonzalez.

Day 3

In the morning, we had a simple and last session with Pastor Gonzalez before lunch and after lunch we packed and got ready to go home.

It is almost here!! For those of you who're joining the camp, don't expect it to be all strict or intensive; contrary to that, I can tell you that this camp would be a time for you to slow down, chill and relax; just having a good rest from your busy school life.

Please make sure that you all reach Wesley Methodist Church Klang by 10.00a.m. on the 18th of March (Thursday), so that unnecessary delays would be avoided. The camp would be 3 days and 2 nights, so you don't have to bring too many clothes, but make sure you have enough. =)

How has everyone been doing? Good? Bad? Emo(tional)? Ecstatic?

Whatever you're feeling right now, this Sunday (7th of March 2010) we're having our fund raising activities! =) Which include selling cupcakes, handmade bookmarks and the very nutritious 'serai' drink.

F.y.i. we're making all the things stated above. Although now is kinda late to inform you guys, I'd still do. Girls, you all will be finishing up the bookmarks TODAY. For more info, contact Jonah. Guys, you all will be making the cupcakes on Saturday (6th of March 2010). Since we're shifting at different times, make sure you remember the time slot that you have agreed to take over.

Last but not least, let's pray that the church will give us their full support on Sunday; after all, that's the most important phase in the whole fund raising activity, right?

Fund raising activities have been planned and will carried out soon.

Pray for ourselves that we will work together as a team and cooperate with each other especially when we're carrying out the fund raising activity and that we all will put our best effort into this.

Pray for many participants to join our camp.
Pray for good weather and safety throughout the whole camp.

Alright people! The administrative position has been passed on from Foon Yoong and Jonah to me, whether temporarily or permanently. But the catch is, you will have to guess who. =P

I'm pretty sure that all of you enjoyed the talk (I wouldn't say sermon; that sounds so formal) Pastor Gurmit Singh gave. Bellows of laughter couldn't stop echoing the MPH hall. And boy was he loud(and handsome)! But more importantly, it is my hope that you all have grasped and understood the message he was trying to convey, with the story of Bartimaeus the beggar being the main topic although he talked a little about other things here and there. I am particularly impressed at all the details and facts he went into about beggars. How they had their 'uniform' and stayed in their comfort zone. But Bartimaeus decided to step out of his comfort zone. If you want a change, there is a price that must be paid. The question is, will YOU be willing enough to change for the better, for God's glory?

Okay so that's what happened last Sunday. This coming Sunday we would be breaking up into our small groups.

Keep your eyes peeled 'coz there would be changes made to the blog as well. Have fun guys and girls. =)

Hey guys. Soli for ze late updates. Zis vas vat we did on ze 31st of January.

Alright, let's skip ze weird English.

We just did a random activity. We had to divide ourselves into groups first of course. So we tried a different way of doing it: form a salad or a burger with ourselves (ingredients)

And after that, each group was given 2 words and must perform a short skit that involves those 2 words and we had 2 secret judges.

Everyone got a slot of an ingredient and had to form a group with max: 7 people.

How to do "Pressed Flowers"

Hello ladies,

if you worry how to do the "Pressed Flowers" don't worry. Here's a video. You don't have to use a rose. No roses please. (that will take more than a week) Choose, Ribena flowers (the one you can suck the nectar out), Bougainvillea (Bunga kertas), something small and rather flat as it is.

Here are some videos.. Take a look

You can use dictionaries or really thick encyclopedias too. Not necessarily phone books. If you don't want the pages of the book you're using to get stain, place the flower(s) in between a tissue paper first then place it in the book. Any problems, refer to me.

We were asked to write down our Goals and Struggles for the new 2010 year in 2 colored pieces of paper. Goal on white paper which has to be kept with us in our bibles or where ever that you see best and the Struggle paper which is the pink paper was handed in as prayer request.

Now we know that there might be Struggles that we might be too afraid to write it down on the pink paper and it's OKAY. You don't need to say it out loud but God knows what is troubling you.

If there is ANYTHING that troubles you and you need someone to pray for you, please feel free to send an sms to any of the counselors or leaders. Just a simple, one line sms will do.

We had at least 20 different ingredients to add to the sandwiches we made. The rule is that:
Everyone has 1 minute (sometimes 1 and 1/2) to add what we want at each table.
When done with the sandwich, satisfied, we draw lots and see which sandwich we have to eat. So, you guys know how we are... CRAZY bunch of us...
Here are the master pieces and outcomes of eating other people's master piece.

We're not sure.

Shin Yee couldn't 'tahan' the wasabi in the sandwich she got;
so Ryan came to the rescue! And boy was it H-O-T!!

There is no Youth Meeting this Sunday because of VBS's first day. Some of us are helping out.

Hey guys! So, so sorry for the delay! I hope you guys remember the Doulos visit. Here's some pics we took.

Doulos Team: (from left) Katherine, Jennifer, Nett, Layla and Jenaya

350 people are currently working on board of the Doulos Ship.

They travel to over 50 countries around the world.

We have only ONE mighty God.

They have 6000 different book titles on board the ship.

Operating 24/7 (Everyday, day and night)

All those who are working on the Doulos Ship are VOLUNTEERS. So they're not paid any money. Cool right?

It was built in the year 1914.

2 is nearly a number of period people can work on the Doulos Ship. 2 weeks, 2 months and also 2 years. :)

Total of 21 mil people visits the ship every year.

Wassup people! I would like to apologize for not updating the prayer list for quite some time now. So there are lots now to pray. ;-)

SPM students
Okay, everyday and every word we speak the exam is drawing closer. So pray that SPM students will be well prepared and that God will grant them wisdom, understanding and remembrance of what they have studied.

One day camp with Chris Long
1. Pray that many youths will join.
2. Pray that everyone will cooperate to make this day running smooth.
3. Pray that everyone will do their job from head to tail and not leaving their tasks incomplete.
4. Pray that many will be touched too through the sessions with Chris Long.
5. Pray for good weather especially during outdoor activities.
6. Pray for safety and wellness for all participants.

CFM : Release of 15,000 Bibles in BM

Hey Youths, just wanna share something with you all. This is an article taken from The Star on the 5th of November 2009 (Thursday). Look at how strong the faith of the CFM and determination to publish Bibles in BM.

Here goes the article :-

CFM : Release of 15,000 Bibles in BM

"KUALA LUMPUR: The Christian Federation of Malaysia (CFM) has called for the immediate release of the 15,000 Bibles in Bahasa Malaysia being withheld by the authorities.

It said that such an action contravened Article 11 of the Federal Constitution, which gave all Malaysians the right to profess and practise their faith.

“This constitutional right is rendered illusory if Christians in Malaysia are denied access to Bibles in a language with which they are familiar,” said its chairman Bishop Ng Moon Hing in a statement yesterday.

He said the withholding of the Bibles deprived Christians in Sabah, Sarawak and in the peninsula, “the right to use the Holy Scriptures in Bahasa Malaysia, to practise and profess their faith and to nourish themselves spiritually.”

He said it was baseless to withhold the Bibles on the ground that they were prejudicial to public order since they had been in existence before independence.

“Since the 1970s and in consonance with the Government’s policies in education and the national language, Christians in Malaysia have received their education in Bahasa Malaysia.”

He said the Government had, in an agreement in 2005, stated that Bibles in Bahasa Malaysia could be distributed so long as the symbol of the cross and the words ‘A Christian publication’ were printed on the front page."

Prayer HIGHLIGHT 2

Hi people. We just received news that our counselor, Aunty Elaine's mum just passed away last night. It was a sudden one. We want to send our deepest condolences to Aunty Elaine and family. And this is what we can pray for them:

Pray for strength and comfort in this time of grief.
Pray that Charmaine can still concentrate on her UEC exam.
Pray for Charis too, that she'll be able to focus on her studies.

We cannot comprehend why these things happen. But things happen for a reason. And God's wonderful plan is behind it.

To Aunty Elaine and family:
Be bold, be strong for the Lord our God is with you. And let the peace of God that surpasses all understanding be with you.

Next week there will be no small group meetings. Instead we have another speaker, Pastor Steven Low.

Topic : Reached a dead end in your life? God allows U-turns!!

He is sharing from the book of Ruth which can be found in the Holy Bible.

Please read it before this Sunday if you can. It is a short book that has only 4 chapters. It's not that hard right?

Remember, the bible is a FUN book to read.

PRAISE THE LORD, people!! President Weldon has successfully gone through the surgery. The real thing that happened was his surgery was delayed. He went oin 2.30pm and got out at 5pm. He is OK and back to his normal self already. Thanks guys for those who prayed out there. God is great!! And didn't I tell you guys, when we pray, we move the hand of God. Amen?

OK! People important update.
President Weldon is going for surgery tomorrow (13th Oct 09) at 12 noon in ARUNAMARI Hospital. (Uncle Ee Sze works there). Pray:

The surgery will go well and smooth
NO complications
The pain would be way LESSER
Weldon will recover FAST and make it for SPM

Guys, for those who never broke a bone before in your life, we can never imagine the pain and suffering Weldon's going through. But I can assure you that Jesus went through the pain which is way much worse. That's why God can understand. Amazing isn't it??

Hey guys! Great job on Youth Sunday 2009! We rocked for God that day! Whoo! Anyway, as I think all of us know, well, for those who don't know; our Youth president broke his right arm. And he didn't manage to join us on Youth Sunday :(
But we had such a wonderful time during Youth Sunday. I personally enjoyed it, PRAISE GOD! Nevertheless, we must continue to pray!

+ he's sitting for SPM this year, so pray that he'll recover fast!
PMR students.
Sitting now it now. (7th-13th Oct) Pray for peace and wisdom to be upon them.
The one day camp on 23rd Nov.
Pray that many will turn up and we'll have a really great, no injury day! + good weather.

KLANG: The Youth Ministry of Wesley Methodist Church Klang (WMCK) took over the Sunday Service with a blast. With God in their mind, they managed a successful Service for God and had loads of fun doing it.

The speaker was Bernard Lee. He is Samuel Lee's brother who is a member of WMCK, currently serving in Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC). Amazing speaker. He talked about how our decisions will determine our future and gave a few of his testimony.

Next Sunday, we have Charis Tan to share for 3-5 minutes.

After that, we have Bernard Lee as our guest speaker. Here's a short write up about him.

We make decisions everyday. The decisions we make today will determine how we live our lives gtomorrow. Bernard lived a "good" life, attended Sunday School and church from a very young age. Raised in a Christian home environment, he did all the "right" things but never had a relationship with God.

3 days before his 15th birthday, the Lord revealed Himself to Bernard in a very powerful way. That day, Bernard made a conscious decision to live for Christ and ever since, his life has never been the same again.

Together with his wife, Li May, they are actively serving in Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC).

Hey guys! Just want to thank God so much because for the first time in WMCK Youth Prayer Meeting history, the boys outnumbered the girls!! That's the way it should be for the coming meetings too. Anyway, here are some more items to be prayed for.

Pray that everything will go through smoothly and we'll get the whole church's support.
PMR and SPM students
Everyday is another day closer. Pray that they'll be prepared in time and glorify God.
Youth Camp 2010
In Cameron Highlands people! Pray that many youths will join us and that our whole church will support us.
Christmas Musical All youths will be willing to be involved and make this year's Christmas a blast! Those who decided to join, will be fully committed and dedicated.

There will be no specific teaching but the counsellors have something for stand by if there is extra time.

23 November will be A Day-with-Chris Long and it will be like a one day camp in church. It will be from 8am-10pm, focusing on 'Relationships'. It's on the 1st Monday of school holidays.
13-15 March 2010, Youth Camp will be held in Chefoo Methodist Centre at Cameron Highlands. More details coming soon.
Youth Sunday is on the 4th of October. Further details coming up soon.
Doulos Team is coming to our church for 2 weeks starting from 30 October. For further details about the Doulos Team, click here.

Here's what happened in Youth on 06/09/09.

Jun Arn came back for a visit. ^^

And our guest speaker for the day is Tripod Executive Director Leon Tan.

Kaymen : Uncle Leon, can I play with your laptop??

Leon briefed us on many stuff. About his job and how they actually run the animation company. He even told us about the steps of preparing an episode of an animation which takes up quite a number of work. To think we used to (or still watching for some) cartoons and thought it was easy to produce animation.

We were like in some sort of class.

Leon showed us a drafted trailer of a project Tripod is working on, Zoorocco. Everyone had to gather around him because we couldn't play his video in the big screen.

Not only those, he talked about various jobs in an animation producing company. For example audio engineering, music composing and more.

Remember people, it's not hard to achieve what you want if you work hard for it. Think of a career, then a degree that can get you there and pray a lot about it.
